Shtetl Kitchen Lecture (virtual)

The roots of the Jewish deli and bagels comes from small town life in Eastern Europe, known as the shtetl. In this lecture, Liz and Jeffrey (co-owners of The Gefilteria and co-authors of The Gefilte Manifesto) explore the roots of this beloved cuisine in the Old Country and the wisdom at the heart of it. Join them for a dynamic discussion on Eastern European Jewish foodways, past and present with the Jewish Federation of the Berkshires (open to the public). They’ll discuss exciting discoveries about seasonal Jewish eating, holiday cooking and culinary wisdom which will transform everything you thought about Ashkenazi gastronomy. They will dive into goose, gefilte fish, cabbage, kugel and more.

Via Zoom. Event info here. Register here.
